Um great news guys!! I went to my first ever working interview!
I did not know what to expect. I did know to where scrubs, take notes, and ask questions. A working interview is essentially just another interview where you are observing and being observed. It is the hands-on part of the interview.
I am still very new to veterinary medicine. Which is okay! I was sort of freaking out because I didn’t want to be completely out of the know. But, after I was there for a while, I did start to see some familiar things I have learned from school. I attend Penn Foster.
For the last part, I was shadowing with the other Techs and Assistants. The day for me lasted about 3 hours. I was lucky enough to witness an ovarianhysterectomy!
I wore a pair of black scrubs (from Walmart) and a dark blue undershirt. The clinic does not have a set color dress code; just scrubs! Even with the dress code being that way, I wanted to wear something neutral, so that I looked more professional. Later, I promise you I will be wearing the Coolest scrubs!
I also brought along my stethoscope and wore my purple Nike’s! I want a new pair… the back of mine have been chewed up form my dogs.
In case you are wondering, I did get the job! And I very thankful!
I never had so much fun watching surgeries before! I can’t wait to assist with anesthesia one day.
