Sierra is three! Sierra celebrated her birthday this year (November 27th) just being lazy and eating her birthday treats. I did want to go all out and have an extravagant, flamboyant birthday party but in all honesty, I was just too tired to do it.
In the end Sierra couldn’t care less if I threw her a big bash. She just wants her treats. It’s so crazy to think just three years ago this girl was born.
My husband and I were still living in North Carolina when we started talking about getting a Siberian Husky. It was my husbands dream to get one since we had to move to Montana. Something about the snow and mountains, and the howling he jut wanted one!
So, I searched and found this amazing Siberian Husky breeder just minutes from the base! And she really is amazing. Before even paying we had to fill out an application with various questions and we had to provide references that she called. Her main concern was since we are a military family, we may have to move overseas at some point…
You hear of stories all the time of military families regaining their pets because of their orders. Not us, my pets are my babies and if I am going somewhere, they are going too.
Our application was accepted and we were given a link that gave us the opportunity to watch a live feed of all of the puppies! Only two were left for us to choose from. Both of them were girls but something just drew us to Sierra. I could see her all cuddled up with her siblings. I mostly saw her sleeping all day. I should of known then that she would be doing that now.
After arriving to our place in TLF, we made our first stop to go see Sierra. Now, our plan was to wait until our base housing was ready for us to move in before getting her. Just so that we could have ample amount of space to raise a puppy. That was the plan. We went to see her, and immediately we just fell in love. She was so only and so cute. Her eyes were the blues I’ve ever seen!
We took her home the next day. Yeah… some plan! We spoiled her like no other, and she caught on to everything so fast. She is funny, smart, playful, happy, and the best cuddle partner. I don’t know what I would do without her!
We had a rough time raising a puppy in an apartment, but it was a lot better once we moved in on base.
Three months later we adopted her sister Nyla, which it hasn’t been the same since!
Happy birthday Sierra Girl!
