A lot of people have the problem with house training their pets. I am working on a post right now with all of my tips for that! But first, I wanted to share with you how I clean my carpets and the products I use to keep my house smelling fresh.
Invest in A Good Carpet Cleaner
We have the Bissel ProHeat Pet. It was around $250 but it is so worth it. I never had such clean carpets! It’s easy to use, and it picks up stains just like that. I try to clean my carpets every other week; because accidents do happen. It’s no ones fault. Animals need consistency! But, urine or not I still clean because of mud, dirt, and dog hair.
Along with my cleaner, I use the Bissel Pet Stain Shampoo With Oxy. It smells wonderful!
Don’t Be Afraid To Scrub Hard
Sometimes, tough stains need to be scrubbed. Hard. Don’t hesitate to get on your hands and knees and just scrub!
Use a Spray For On The Spot Cleaning
If I do see an accident, I use Resolve Urine Destroyer. It smells good and it really does work. I’ve only been using it for a short one but it seems to work the best for odors than any other brand I’ve used. The quicker you get to the urine the better.
Fragrance is Key
If your dog does not smell urine, chances are they won’t pee there. If the scent lingers they will continue to mark in that same spot. Everyday, I use Scentsy wax melts and I freshen their dog beds and blankets with FeBreze. It helps keep the air smelling nice.
I love the sight of fresh carpet lines! This is the dog room slash my room when the husband is playing Xbox and I need to catch up on Netflix and Hulu. Haha! But when we are gone this is where the girls stay. Which is why it is the most high traffic area that needs to be cleaned the most!
I hope I gave you a little bit of insight on cleaning! Remember, you have hundreds of products out there to try. Don’t get discouraged! These are just the products I use that I feel help me the most.
